Eiserner Steg or the Iron Foot Bridge. This bridge connects the center of Frankfurt to the district of Sachsenhausen. Our stroll across the River Main led us past love locks and to a cute copper statue(below). The bridge was originally built in 1868 and rebuilt in 1946. Cologne Cathedral, Cologne, Germany 2023

Construction on the Cologne Cathedral began in 1248, paused in 1560 and was largely complete by 1880. The Cathedral was a target of aerial bombings during WWII. In a nearly flattened city, the Cathedral remained standing. By 1956, repairs from war damage were complete. The Cathedral is always undergoing some sort of maintenance or repair as evidenced by the
